This lacy tulip granny square is so beautiful, and is worked up so quickly!!  I love the light, airy look of the finished square!  This square is worked in beautiful Plymouth Cleo cotton found HERE and I love how light weight it is! This square would be perfect worked into a summertime shawl, or as a light weight summer top (hint, hint…pattern coming soon! – for a sneak peek scroll to bottom of page)

Point of DC Cluster across SC circle to Point of DC Cluster measures about 2 1/2 inches

Materials –
7/4.5mm
Plymouth Cleo – 45 yards
Embroidery Needle

Stitch Guide –
YO – Yarn Over
SLST – Slip Stitch
CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet
HDC – Half Double Crochet
DC – Double Crochet
SC2tog – Single Crochet 2 together
DC Cl – Double Crochet Cluster – 3DC together – YO, pull up a loop, YO pull through 2 loops (2 loops left on hook), YO, pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2 loops (3 loops left on hook), YO, pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2 loops (4 loops left on hook), YO and pull through all 4 loops

DC2tog – Double Crochet 2 together – YO, pull up a loop, YO pull through 2 loops (2 loops left on hook), YO, pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2 loops (3 loops left on hook), YO and pull through remaining 3 loops

Modified Stitches –
MTR – Modified Triple Crochet – YO twice, insert hook into stitch, YO and pull up a loop (4 loops on hook), YO pull through 2 loops, YO pull through remaining 3 loops.

*Note – This pattern is worked in rounds, so right side is always facing you.

Round 1. CH11, join in first CH, CH1, 23SC in ring, SLST in first SC

Round 2. CH2 (counts as first DC), DC2tog using joining and next stitch (counts as first DC Cl), CH7, *DC Cl using next 3 stitches, CH7*, repeat from *to* around. Join with SLST in top of first DC2tog (8 DC Cl)

Round 3. Working in CH7 spaces *SC, HDC, HDC, DC, MTR, DC, HDC, HDC, SC*, repeat from *to* seven more times. Join with SLST in first SC

Round 4. SLST in next 3 stitches, CH3, counts as first DC, CH7, skip next stitch, DC in next stitch, CH7, skip next 6 stitches, SLST in next, CH3, skip a stitch, SLTS in next, CH7, *skip next 6 stitches, DC in in next stitch, CH7, skip a stitch, DC in next stitch, CH7, skip next 6 stitches, SLST in next, CH3, skip a stitch, SLST in next stitch, CH7*, repeat from *to* two more times. Join with SLST in 3rd CH of CH3 DC

Round 5. *in CH7 space (SC, SC, HDC, HDC, DC, MTR, TR, CH3, TR, MTR, DC, HDC, HDC, SC, SC), in next CH7 space (SC, DC, DC, MTR, TR, MTR, DC, DC, SC), SC in CH3 space, in next CH7 space( SC, DC, DC, MTR, TR, MTR, DC, DC, SC)*, repeat from *to* three more times. Join with SLST in first SC

Round 6. SLST in next 6 stitches (towards the first CH3 space on row 5), * in CH3 space SC, DC, MTR, CH3, MTR, DC, SC, CH9, skip next 11 stitches, SC in next stitch, CH9, skip next 9 stitches, SC in next stitch, CH9, skip next 11 spaces*, repeat from *to* three more times. Join with SLST in first SC

Round 7. CH1, SC in same as joining and next 2 stitches, in CH3 corner space (HDC, 2DC, Picot, 2DC, HDC), SC in next 3 stitches, ^6SC, Picot, 6SC^ in CH9 space, repeat from ^to^ twice more, *(SC in the next 3 stitches, in corner CH3 space (HDC, 2DC, Picot, 2DC, HDC), SC in next 3 stitches, **6SC, Picot, 6SC in CH9 space**)*, repeat from **to** twice more, repeat from *(to)* 2 more times, Join with SLST in first SC. Finish Off
