There is no long beginning Chain to mess with as it is designed with a Foundation Single Crochet stitch.  However, if you are not comfortable with the Foundation stitch, simply work a CH and SC back across then continue on with Row 1.

This pattern is first worked into a rectangle that looks like a scarf, then you simply stitch together the Foundation Single Crochet row and Edging row to create the sleeves, next you secure all your ends and finally you add the cuffs!  Yes it is really that simple.

Round 2: BL SC in same as joining and around. Join with Sl St in first SC, CH1.

Repeat row 2 until desired length of cuff is reached. Finished item shown changes color every 4 Rounds. If you would like the cuff to taper towards the wrist then I suggest reducing the size of your crochet hook as needed. For finished item shown, I reduced to a 4.4mm hook in the last 4 rows.
